Getting started
For internal testers: add images or a folder to the queue, select an output format, review the destination and convert. Check your output settings before enabling instant conversion on drop.
Keep source copies while checking a new workflow. The app’s destination and filename settings determine where output files are written.
Choosing a format
WebP is a flexible option for web images. JPEG suits photographs and broad compatibility. PNG supports transparency and graphics. AVIF can provide modern compression where your macOS encoder supports it.
Image accepts HEIC/HEIF and WebP input, along with JPEG, PNG and TIFF. AVIF input is not supported. Format support does not imply that all animation, HDR or metadata features are preserved.
Profiles & srcset
Save output settings as a reusable profile for repeat work. For websites, srcset export prepares image variants for responsive layouts.
Watch folders, instant conversion and Finder integrations can shorten repeat workflows. Review the product workflow and current release limitations before relying on an unattended setup.
Downloads & releases
SmallLynx Image is in internal testing. There is no public download yet. SmallLynx Disk is planned and development has not started.
Common questions
Do my images leave my Mac?
SmallLynx Image converts files locally. No upload is needed for conversion.
Why might AVIF be unavailable?
AVIF output depends on the encoder available in your version of macOS. WebP, JPEG and PNG provide other output choices.
Can I use it on an Intel Mac?
The build includes Intel and Apple Silicon architectures. Testing on a physical Intel Mac is still pending; the app is not yet a public release.
